How can the mySkinHealth app help me?
• Control your eczema better by following your personalised written action plan
• Share the full picture of your eczema with your GP, nurse or consultant, including photos and notes; even by email, to get the best advice on how manage your eczema
• Measure and track your eczema to learn about your ‘triggers’ so you can avoid them
• Receive advice and tips direct to your phone
• Better understand and manage your condition by viewing the in-app videos and information sheets
• Learn how to prevent flare-ups or manage them when they occur

Record your eczema severity using the POEM scoring system
• POEM stands for Patient-Oriented Eczema Measure, a tool recommended by the NHS and created by specialists at Nottingham University and recognized by dermatologists and GPs.
• By answering a few simple questions POEM tracks the severity of your eczema based on how it has personally affected you over the past week
• The app then calculates a score between 0 to 28, corresponding to five categories of eczema severity, ranging from clear to very severe
• So you can share how severely your eczema is ‘bothering’ you in a clearly defined way that your clinician understands and can act on

Record the intensity of a flare-up
• Based on the NHS and internationally recognised EASI (Eczema Area and Severity Index) system
• Helps you learn what is triggering your flare-ups so you can avoid them, as well as how to manage the flare-up
• Aid appropriate and timely advice
• Gives a score by body area based on intensity of skin redness, thickness, the level of scratch marks, and how leathery or lined (lichenified) the region is
• You can even add in photos of the affected area and any relevant notes
• The app automatically records UV and air quality in your area, as these can also affect eczema
• You now have the full picture to share with your GP / nurse by email or in person, whenever you need to and from wherever you are so that they can let you know what you need to do to get your condition back under control

Follow your written action plan and in-app advice
• Your personalised written action plan is your ‘road map’ to improving and managing your eczema and is based on what you tell the app about the treatments that you use
• Following your plan each day will help you to achieve better skin and less painful flare-ups
• Your plan is divided into 3 stages, depending on eczema severity, with each one guiding you to the best way to treat your eczema including when to seek help
• Better understand and manage your condition by viewing the in-app videos and information sheets: ‘about eczema’, how to use emollients, tips and advice
• Receive notifications and supportive advice when required direct to your phone

Share your eczema history with your healthcare professional
• Your POEM and flare-up history can be shared with your surgery, by email or in person
• Send ahead of a scheduled review or when you most need help
• Either way your GP or nurse have all the information they need in order to give you the best possible advice and help get your eczema back under control
• Sharing and discussing your written action plan with your GP is a priceless opportunity to check that you are following your GPs advice in the way they intended
